A client of ours requested Vues at 500 locations spread across the country.
Traditionally, collecting property insights required sending their field teams to every one of the 500 sites. When you breakdown the math (don’t worry we did the hard part for you), it came to 843,765 miles traveled to get their team on all 500 of their locations and back.
Now let’s break down some averages when it comes to CO2 emissions.
- The average passenger vehicle emits about 404 grams of CO2 per mile
- The average plane produces over 53 pounds of CO2 per mile
If all field workers traveled solely by automobiles, that’s roughly 341M grams or 752K pounds of fuel emissions. Now if we factor in these numbers for transportation by plane… that number gets even scarier. This particular project would emit approximately 45M pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere merely by plane.
